The risk
We were recently presented with a risk by a long-term supporting broker, who was approached to assist a well-known and respected equine association who needed assistance. The client had voiced their need for a strong and consistent level of service coupled with their need for an overall review of their existing Public, Products and Employers Liability policy and subsequent covers. There was an overall concern voiced from the broker on the client’s current policy wording and potential gaps in cover upon initial presentation.
The approach
With over 30 years of combined Equine Liability underwriting experience in the Equine team at TUE, Danielle Howard, Equine Underwriter, was able to quickly identify potential deficiencies in the existing cover based on the initial risk submission. Leveraging access to multiple insurers in the London market, Danielle engaged a trusted Equine insurer with specialist knowledge to provide a tailored solution.
Danielle’s detailed review of the broker submission and policy wording highlighted key issues:
- Outdated and inconsistent policy wording.
- Ambiguities around whether certain covers were included.
- Missing cover for some known client activities.
- A delayed policy schedule, reinforcing the client's concern over service levels.
TUE’s established Equine policy wordings are designed specifically for the industry, enabling us to address these gaps confidently and deliver a robust solution.
The outcome
Working closely with the broker and insurer, we secured terms within five working days for what was a complex risk. The client valued the involvement of our underwriter Danielle, noting the meticulous and straightforward approach from both TUE and the broker. This combination of expertise and service led to the decision to place the risk with TUE.
Benefits to the client and broker
